Data Center Fiber Technician Opportunity (Travelers Welcome)

We are hiring experienced Fiber Technicians to take on full time work at a large data center. Travelers are welcome!

Schedule - (2) Shifts, Day shift and night shift, 12 hour shifts, 6 days a week, lots of overtime!

Duration: - If all goes well it could go up to 4 years.

Requirements: - Fiber Ribbon Splicing, High density ribbon splicing with MPO connectors, 16 strand fiber for high density, Fujikara 90r machine model. This is for Oracle data center. Working (2) different shifts 12 hour shifts

Certifications: - FOA is a huge +++ any fiber certs they have

Job Description -

Responsibilities

• Inspect and clean fiber using proper procedures

• Label fiber on both ends using flag labels

• Install pre-terminated fiber cables following Google’s cabling matrix

• Use existing pathways, overhead ladders, and trays

• Dress, secure, and organize fiber cleanly

• Keep a safe and tidy work area inside live data halls

• Report blockers, missing materials, or issues to the lead immediately

Tools Provided On-Site

Technicians do not need to bring these.

• Fiber cleaning kits (cletop, one-click, LC, SC, MPO)

• Patch cords, couplers, bulkheads

• Fiber video scope

• MPO inspection/cleaning tools

• Visual Fault Locator (VFL)

• Live Fiber Detector (LFD)

• Label printers and TZe 12mm tape

• Fiber inspection probe

• Fiber cleaning kits

• ESD equipment

• Cage nuts, screws, and consumables

• Pathways and mounting hardware

• Working with a probe is a MUST
