Data Center Installation Technician
Location: Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania
Work Model: Fully onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with flexibility for alternate weekday or weekend schedules when needed
Position Overview
We are hiring Data Center Installation Technicians to support a large-scale infrastructure deployment in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.
This is a hands-on role focused on installing racks, cabling, and related data center equipment in an active construction environment. The position is best suited for candidates with experience in telecommunications, structured cabling, fiber, copper, low-voltage systems, inside-plant work, data center installation, or security-system wiring.
This is not a desk-based IT support or critical-facilities role.
Responsibilities
- Install, move, and position server racks, carts, and related equipment
- Pull, route, organize, label, and manage fiber and copper cabling
- Support rack-and-stack activities and hardware deployment
- Work with patch panels, cable pathways, and structured cabling systems
- Follow work instructions, diagrams, drawings, SOPs, and installation checklists
- Perform basic Layer 1 troubleshooting on fiber and copper connections
- Use a laptop for inventory, ticketing, documentation, and task tracking
- Inspect work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with installation standards
- Work closely with technicians, leads, and onsite managers
- Adapt to changing priorities and meet project deadlines
- Follow all safety, PPE, and construction-site requirements
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in at least one of the following:

- Telecommunications
- Structured cabling
- Fiber or copper installation
- Low-voltage systems
- Inside-plant telecom
- Data center installation
- Network installation
- Security cameras, access control, or alarm wiring
- Experience pulling or running cable in a structured environment
- Basic understanding of Layer 1 infrastructure and physical connectivity
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, diagrams, and SOPs
- Basic computer skills for documentation, inventory, and ticketing
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in an active construction environment
Physical Requirements
- Lift and move up to 35 pounds repeatedly
- Participate in team lifts of 41 pounds or more
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods
- Work in cramped, elevated, noisy, or temperature-variable environments
- Push, pull, and maneuver racks, carts, and equipment safely
- Wear required PPE throughout the workday
Footwear Requirement
Candidates must provide their own:
- Over-the-ankle leather work boots
- Composite-toe protection
Steel-toe boots and sneaker-style safety shoes are not accepted for this assignment.
Qualifications
- Data center cabling experience
- Rack-and-stack experience
- Fiber or copper testing experience
- Cat5e or Cat6 installation experience
- Patch-panel experience
- CCTV or access-control installation experience
- Telecom-provider or inside-plant background
- Relevant technical certification or associate degree
Schedule
The primary schedule for this opening is:
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Candidates should also have flexibility to support alternate schedules when business needs require, including:
- Sunday–Wednesday
- Wednesday–Saturday
- Tuesday–Friday
