The Procurement Director plays a critical role in supporting our mission-critical data center initiatives by managing the sourcing and logistics of equipment. This individual will work closely with strategic vendors, internal teams, and executive leadership to ensure procurement efforts are aligned with project timelines, budgets, and organizational goals. The role involves overseeing supply chain operations, developing financial models, and providing analytical insights to guide purchasing decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, construction management, or capital project delivery within the data center industry.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring procurement or project teams.
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, construction processes, and MEP equipment procurement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, cost analysis, and data interpretation.
- Ability to operate strategically while also engaging in detailed project-level analysis when required.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex vendor relationships.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement function across multiple large-scale data center development projects, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of critical equipment and services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that support new site development, campus expansions, and high-value capital construction programs.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor-related issues, resolving complex commercial, contractual, and delivery challenges to maintain project schedules.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Procurement Analysts, serving as the primary resource for problem-solving, decision-making, and procurement best practices.
- Review and validate procurement activities at the project level, periodically working directly within project details to ensure accuracy in sourcing decisions, vendor selection, pricing models, and procurement execution.
- Partner closely with construction, finance, and engineering teams to align procurement strategy with project timelines, budgets, and operational priorities.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and execution of key agreements including NDAs, master supply agreements, and project-specific contracts.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors to ensure alignment with WWMC’s technical standards, cost expectations, and delivery requirements.
- Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain risks that impact procurement strategy and equipment sourcing.
- Oversee procurement budgets, cost models, and financial analyses to ensure responsible spend management and accurate project forecasting.
- Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes, including workflow standardization, reporting tools, and performance metrics.
- Represent WWMC in high-level vendor discussions, negotiations, and industry engagements.
