Data Center Project Manager, Critical Projects Implementation Team

Job DescriptionThe Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team is a project management\n
\n
\nand execution team that manages construction activity within the\n
\n
\noperational data center spaces. The CPI team is tasked with critical\n
\n
\ninfrastructure improvement projects to optimize utilization of space,\n
\n
\npower, and cooling within operation data centers around the globe. These\n
\n
\nactivities are outside of the scope of standard construction delivery\n
\n
\nand regular preventative maintenance tasks. We are currently seeking a Data Center Projects Engineer to serve as a technical resource within Amazon data centers in the EU. Position will be based in Frankfurt, Germany and will involve travel to support projects across the EU.\n
\n
\nYou will be part of a highly creative,\n
\n
\nefficient team tasked with tackling the most fascinating and challenges\n
\n
\nin designing, building, and operating Amazon data facilities. The\n
\n
\nProject Manager is ultimately responsible for project oversight and\n
\n
\nreview of all disciplines including electrical, mechanical, controls,\n
\n
\nand architectural. A fundamental understanding of these systems is\n
\n
\nrequired, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for\n
\n
\nimprovement as well as act on data provided from other team and\n
\n
\norganizations. Ideal candidates will possess the ability to design,\n
\n
\ndevelop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational\n
\n
\nchallenges. This role requires both independent contribution as well as\n
\n
\nthe ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams. The scope of\n
\n
\nprojects will include but not limited to the improvement of electrical,\n
\n
\nmechanical, fire detection and building automation system. The Project\n
\n
\nManager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination,\n
\n
\nimplementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects\n
\n
\nensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.\n
\n

\nResponsibilities include: Project management and oversight of\n
\n
\nconstruction related activities as they relate to modifying existing\n
\n
\ninfrastructure for the purpose of installing new or to replace end of\n
\n
\nlife equipment. This will include the ownership of the project scope,\n
\n
\ntimeline, and budget. - Provide project management for specific\n
\n
\ninitiatives aimed at increasing the resiliency of our data centers. -\n
\n
\nElectrical design and review of designs associated with the optimization\n
\n
\nof existing data centers. - Construction/project package drawing\n
\n
\nreview. - Creation of project scope, request for proposals, and capital\n
\n
\nrequests. - Total project quality including the creation of a\n
\n
\ncommissioning plan and oversight of the execution. - Recording and\n
\n
\nreporting key metrics to team members and management. - Operational\n
\n
\nsupport including review of procedures, best practices, and maintenance\n
\n
\ninitiatives. - Drive teams to perform troubleshooting and root cause\n
\n
\nfailure analysis associated with equipment or electrical failures. -\n
\n
\nWork with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient and high quality\n
\n
\nproject turnovers. - Be a leader within the group as well as within\n
\n
\ninternal and external teams that support the data center.\n
\n
\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field - Experience in vendor management - Experience in a data center or other critical environment - Experience in data center engineering or operations - Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in construction or project management\n
