Job Description
Job Title: Data Center Support / Operations Engineer
Location: Santa Clara, CA/ Atlanta, GA – Onsite (5 days/week)
Work Hours: 8-hour shift (PST; exact timing post-selection)
Key Responsibilities
- Install & Maintain Hardware: Compute, network, storage, racks, PDUs, cabling, etc.
- Monitor Infrastructure: Prevent failures and performance degradation.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose, escalate, and resolve hardware and connectivity issues.
- Collaboration: Work with Operations teams and remote hands for issue resolution.
- Asset Management: Maintain detailed inventory of installed and spare equipment.
- Documentation: Keep datacenter configuration records up to date.
- RMA & Logistics: Handle shipping, receiving, and return activities.
- Change Management: Follow process and participate in off-hours change windows.
- Datacenter Standards: Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational excellence.
Must-Have Hands-On Skills
- Racking & Cabling: Physically install and cable servers and network gear.
- Cabling Knowledge: Familiarity with SFP types and cable types.
- Documentation: Ability to follow and write clear installation directions.
- Stacking/Unstacking: Proficient in full rack setup and cabling layout.
