Onsite Services Technician (Temporary)

Location: Sterling, VA

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Project-based assignments (see project timeline below)

Work Environment: Onsite at customer facilities, including corporate offices and secure data centers

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Onsite Services Technicians to support our Data Center technology asset management projects. In this role, you will travel to customer locations to assist with the secure decommissioning, handling, and preparation of IT equipment for transport and disposal.

This is a hands-on position requiring physical work, attention to detail, and professionalism. Technicians represent our Data Center while working directly with customers and are expected to provide exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of security and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Decommission IT equipment, including servers, network switches, PDUs, desktops, laptops, and related technology assets.
• Remove servers and other equipment from data center racks safely and efficiently.
• Remove hard drives, database carriers, and other data-bearing devices when required.
• Operate data destruction equipment, including shredders, degaussers, and crushers, following company procedures.
• Accurately scan and record asset information, including serial numbers, model numbers, and asset tags.
• Organize, palletize, and prepare equipment for secure shipment.
• Load and unload technology equipment for safe transportation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area while following all safety protocols.
• Deliver professional, courteous customer service during all onsite assignments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with onsite IT asset disposition, data center services, or technology equipment handling is .
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Comfortable using basic hand tools and handling technology equipment.
• Strong attention to detail when recording asset information and following security procedures.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in secure customer environments.

Project Schedule

• August 3 – September 4: 8 technicians needed
• September 8 – October 9: 5 technicians needed
• October 13 – October 30: 5 technicians needed

Dress Code

• Plain T-shirt or polo shirt
• Jeans
• Steel-toe shoes (required)

: Candidates who already have personal protective equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves and steel-toe shoes.
