Job DescriptionJob Description
We’re supporting a leading data center solutions provider in hiring a Data Center Technician to join their team. This role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure within modular and enterprise data centers.
What You’ll Do
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on pumps, motors, actuators, relays, transformers, PLCs, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Read and interpret one-line diagrams and schematics to diagnose and resolve issues down to component level.
- Support preventive maintenance activities at modular data centers (MDCs) and enterprise sites.
- Respond to “break-fix” issues within strict SLAs (four-hour or next-business-day, depending on criticality).
- Travel as needed between the Austin and DFW (3-4x per year)
- Collaborate with engineering teams on commissioning new modular containers.
- Ensure safe work practices including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and compliance with applicable codes.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong electrical background: data center, mission-critical facility, or military
- Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and repair control circuitry, not just vendor-manage.
- Experience with schematics, cable/conductor sizing, current switches/transducers, and VFDs.
- General HVAC/equipment troubleshooting knowledge is a plus, but not the primary focus.
- Comfortable with basic networking concepts (IP/DHCP setup on PLCs).
- Flexible for on-call rotation and light travel
