OSP Data Center Technician
Job Summary
The OSP Data Center Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optic and copper cabling systems within and outside data center environments. Candidates must have experience with OSP cabling practices, an understanding of structured cabling systems, and the ability to work safely in various field conditions. Candidates are encouraged to apply immediately as we have an urgent need throughout Denton and DFW.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, splice, and test fiber optic and copper cabling for data center and OSP environments.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents.
- Perform fiber optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other test equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of OSP infrastructure.
- Install conduits, handholes, manholes, and aerial or underground cabling systems as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI), and company procedures.
- Document all work using appropriate systems (e.g., GIS, asset management software).
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to support infrastructure buildouts and upgrades.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in OSP, fiber optics, or structured cabling.
- Strong understanding of OSP infrastructure (aerial, underground, and in-building pathways).
- Familiarity with splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic cables.
- Ability to operate fiber testers (OTDR, Light Source/Power Meter).

- BICSI certification (OSP Technician, Installer, or Technician Level II).
- FOA CFOT or equivalent fiber optic certifications.
- OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR certification.
- Previous experience working in a data center environment.
Compensation:
- Pay up to $30.00 depending on experience
- Weekly Pay
- Referral Bonuses up to $250 for referrals that result in a placement (Ask for details)
