Job Description – Level-1 Field Services/Deskside Technician
Role: Entry-Level DC Support Technician
Location: Columbus, OH
Type: Onsite
Core Skills: Circuit Audits, Loopback Testing, Basic Cabling
Responsibilities
Perform loopback testing on network circuits using test equipment.
Simulate traffic, isolate faults, and fully document results.
Conduct circuit audits: physically inspect circuits, verify proper configuration, test signal quality, and record findings.
Resolve issues found during audits.
Support basic network cabling tasks as needed.
Work overtime/weekends when required.
Attend safety briefings and follow all safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
Lift 50 lbs and move items up to 75 lbs.
Work at heights, ladders, and confined spaces.
Good vision and ability to read small labels and print.
Professional communication and customer-facing skills.
Skills
1–3 years of fiber experience (MMF/SMF).
Familiar with OTDR / PMLS fiber testing.
Basic data center installation experience.
Knowledge of fusion & mechanical splicing.
Exposure to OSP / confined space entry.
Hands-on with common trade tools: screwdrivers, levels, snips, pliers, punch tools, tone sets, crimp tools, etc.
