Data Center Technician (cabling)

US Citizenship required.

This role will be a temporary position for 3 months. Expertise in cabling in a Data Center will be the primary skill required for this role.

Job Duties:

• Help qualify and troubleshoot new hardware models
• Design rack elevations and run power calculations
• Rack and wire new networking equipment and servers
• Design process improvements for datacenter management
• Work closely with Network Engineering, Compute, and Database teams for site maintenance
• Inventory and documentation of datacenter equipment and spares
• "Racking and Stacking"
• Wiring
• Following Designs, not writing them
• Troubleshooting Network Hardware
• Adjust voice and video configurations to minimize communication disruptions
• Be able to run tape backups

Skills:

• Experience running neat cabling
• Experience testing and verifying copper and fiber cabling
• Intense attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience configuring routers and switches
• Previous experience in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or other related fields
• Familiarity with telecommunications equipment
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong work ethic
• Be able to work under pressure
