Data Center Technician II

Purpose

Perform structured cabling and fiber splicing tasks independently while mentoring entry-level techs, ensuring QC compliance, and intermediate knowledge in data center networking.

Responsibilities

  • Execute fiber prep, fusion splicing, and OTDR testing.
  • Read network drawings and install rack-based infrastructure.
  • Document test results and as-built cabling paths.
  • Assist in on-site support and training of OMS Technician staff.
  • Intermediate network troubleshooting.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of field experience in fiber optics or structured cabling.
  • Proficiency in OTDR, VFL, power meters, and fusion splicing.
  • Familiarity with TIA standards and structured cable management.
  • FOA, BICSI Installer, or equivalent certs .
