Job Title: Data Center Technician
Location: Memphis, TN (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (until 12/31/2026)
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to join our team in Memphis, TN. In this role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Dell servers at the customer site, perform installations, manage parts, and conduct preventative maintenance. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to handle heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
- Triage and troubleshoot server issues with guidance from Dell Support.
- Execute Plans of Action (POA) from Dell Domain Engineers/L3.
- Document results, logs, and service reports, including part numbers and PPID of replaced components.
- Reseat, swap, or replace server hardware components (CPU, memory, GPU, power supply).
- Conduct server testing, diagnostics, and firmware upgrades.
- Manage inbound and outbound parts, including spare parts during server deployments.
- Return parts to Dell as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain organization within the data center.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical certification or Associate Degree .
- 4–6 years of experience in server hardware, data center operations, or IT support.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware, including CPU, memory, GPU, and power supply replacements.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with server deployments, swaps, and maintenance.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and plans of action.
- Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands, including heavy lifting.
Skills
- Experience with Dell servers.
- Experience with water-cooled servers (desirable, not required).
- Personal PC building experience.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
