Data Center Technician / Server Hardware Technician

Job Summary

We are hiring Data Center Technicians to support enterprise-level Dell server hardware at a customer data center site in Memphis, TN. This role involves hands-on server troubleshooting, hardware replacement, diagnostics, and documentation in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Dell server hardware
• Replace and reseat components (CPU, memory, power supplies, GPUs)
• Perform server swaps, installations, and deployments
• Execute Plan of Action (POA) provided by Dell L3 Engineers
• Run diagnostics, capture logs, and upload service data
• Upgrade firmware as required
• Manage parts locker, spare parts, and returns to Dell
• Maintain accurate real-time documentation and service reports
• Follow safety procedures and handle heavy lifting as required

Required Qualifications

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience with server hardware
• Experience working in data center environments
• Strong knowledge of server wiring and hardware components
• Comfortable with physical work and lifting server equipment
• Basic familiarity with Linux
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work shifts and be on-call if required

Skills

• Experience with Dell servers
• Server builds and full server replacements
• Water-cooling server experience (plus, not required)
• Technical certification or Associate Degree
