Data Centre Automation Technician\n\n£50,000 - £55,000 Basic + Bonus + Car + Training + Career Progression + Pension + Healthcare\n London (Home-based with travel across London and the Southeast)\n\nAre you an enthusiastic Controls or BMS Engineer looking to build your skills and develop your career in the growing data centre industry?\n\nClear are working with a leading provider of automation and BMS solutions for mission-critical environments. We're looking for a motivated Data Centre Automation Technician to support ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and small project work within modern data centre facilities.\n\nThis is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in controls or BMS systems who wants to gain more exposure to SCADA, PLC, and Ignition-based systems, while working alongside experienced engineers and receiving structured technical training.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupport the maintenance and troubleshooting of SCADA and PLC systems in data centre environments.\nAssist in fault diagnosis and repair of Ignition-based front-end applications and PLC Ladder Logic.\nCarry out basic BMS (Trend) and PLC maintenance under supervision, helping ensure system uptime and reliability.\nTake part in site visits, surveys, and documentation tasks (e.g. recording wiring layouts, equipment details, and software versions).\nWork closely with senior engineers to learn about system design, testing, and commissioning processes.\nProvide professional and helpful support to clients, maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

\n\nIdeal Candidate:\n\nSome hands-on experience with BMS, SCADA, or PLC systems (e.g. Trend, Siemens, Schneider, or Allen-Bradley).\nInterest in learning how to configure and support Ignition SCADA systems.\nBasic understanding of control systems, automation, or electrical engineering principles.\nGood communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.\nWillingness to travel to client sites and occasionally work flexible hours.\nKeen to progress technically and professionally through structured training and mentoring. \n\nWhat's on Offer:\n\nCompany car or car allowance.\nIndustry-leading bonus scheme.\nPrivate healthcare (with option to add family).\nOvertime available.\nPension plan.\nOngoing training and a clear career development path into more senior engineering roles.
