My client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced FM Contract Manager to lead engineering operations at a highly critical site in Slough. This is a key leadership appointment, managing a team of approximately 15 direct reports, within a safety-critical environment.\n\nA strong background in Critical Services is essential. The successful candidate will combine hands-on engineering credibility with the ability to rigorously manage systems, processes, and stakeholder expectations.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all electrical and mechanical infrastructure on site.
You will act as the senior engineering authority, ensuring best practice across maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nLeading and managing FM engineering services across the site\n\nOwnership and oversight of the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system\n\nActing as the main engineering interface with clients and end users, addressing technical issues, complaints, and operational requirements\n\nReviewing plant and system performance, identifying risks, and driving continuous improvement and benchmarking initiatives\n\nMonitoring operations and maintenance activity, producing key management information relating to:\n\nCritical maintenance\n\nAsset availability and capacity\n\nChange and risk management\n\nImproving maintenance and operational techniques to reduce invasive maintenance and increase system resilience\n\nEnsuring all technical activities meet statutory compliance, health & safety, and client safety requirements\n\nExperience Required\n\nMinimum 5 years' experience managing FM services within a critical environment, such as:\n\nData Centres\n\nBanking or Financial Institutions\n\nResearch Facilities\n\nHospitals\n\nBroadcast or Television Centres\n\nProven leadership experience managing multi-skilled engineering teams\n\nStrong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nQualifications\n\nHNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)\n\nAuthorised Person (High Voltage) - highly desirable\n\nIOSH Managing Safely\n\nPackage & Benefits\n\nMonday to Friday (40 hours per week)\n\nSalary up to £72,000\n\n£5,000 car allowance\n\n8% bonus\n\n25 days holiday + bank holidays\n\nPension scheme\n\nPrivate healthcare\n\nFor further information, please contact Tarik Bell-Ross on (phone number removed) or email (url removed)\n\nRG Setsquare is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy
