Job Description

We’re working with a well-established, blue-chip organisation delivering network cabling projects within Data Centre (DC) environments across the South. Due to an internal move, they’re now looking to appoint a Data Centree Project Surveyor / Install Manager to take ownership of surveys, on-site supervision, and project close-out.\n\nThis role is not a hands-on installation position. It’s ideal for someone who has / wants to come off the tools and is now comfortable managing people, surveying sites, and feeding accurate information into estimation and delivery teams.\n\n The Role\n\nAs Project Surveyor / Install Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the project lifecycle from site survey through to documentation and close-out.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * Conducting site surveys across DC and enterprise environments\n\n * Supervising installation teams (structured cabling & fibre projects)\n\n * Gathering technical and commercial information for the estimation team\n\n * Managing on-site changes and ensuring accurate documentation\n\n * Supporting delivery of network cabling projects (racking, stacking, fibre optics)\n\n * Ensuring projects are closed out properly with full documentation\n\n * Acting as the on-site point of contact for stakeholders\n\nThis role covers sites across Slough, Heathrow, Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas, including major DC clusters (LHR).\n\n About You\n\nEssential:\n\n * Background in structured cabling / network installations\n\n * Someone who has worked on the tools and moved into supervision or management\n\n * Strong on-site knowledge of fibre optics and cabling installations\n\n * Comfortable managing engineers and subcontractors\n\n * Good understanding of installation standards and quality control\n\nDesirable:\n\n * Exposure to estimating or survey-to-cost handovers\n\n * Data Centre or mission-critical environment experience\n\n * Experience working with blue-chip clients\n\n What’s on Offer\n\n * Company vehicle\n\n * Clear progression pathway:\n\n * Install Manager → Supervisor / Team Lead\n\n * Supervisor → Project Manager\n\n * Increasing workload and long-term career stability\n\n * Opportunity to work on high-profile DC projects\n\n Why Join?\n\n * Work with a blue-chip client in a growing DC environment\n\n * Step fully off the tools into a structured management role\n\n * Real career progression, not a dead-end title\n\n * Strong support from internal teams and leadership
