Job Title: Data Centre Manager – Hyperscale Facility

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Manager with a strong M&E background to oversee the day-to-day operations of a hyperscale facility (~80MW+) in Woking. You will be responsible for maintaining operational excellence, uptime, and safety while managing multidisciplinary teams and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a hyperscale data centre, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Oversee mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance, preventative maintenance, and incident response.
- Manage on-site teams, including engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure projects, upgrades, and maintenance are delivered on time and within budget.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Provide regular reports on operational performance, incidents, and improvements to senior management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance sustainability practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) engineering background, formally qualified (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience managing hyperscale or large data centres (50MW+ preferable).
- Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure systems, including power distribution, cooling, fire suppression, BMS, and monitoring systems.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and external contractors.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and health & safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in budget management, vendor management, and operational reporting.
