Data Centre Facilities Lead – Chesterfield (Onsite)
My client develops, owns and operates AI infrastructure across the UK, transforming legacy industrial and energy sites into modern, sustainable data centres. They are now looking for a hands-on Data Centre Facilities Lead to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of critical environments.
The Role
This position sits at the core of mission-critical operations, overseeing electrical, mechanical and cooling systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance. The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day operations, maintenance programmes, incident response and continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and HVAC/liquid cooling systems
• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure uptime and reliability
• Manage critical infrastructure including UPS, generators, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH, chillers and BMS/EMS
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, permits, LOTO and regulatory requirements
• Maintain technical documentation (SOPs, SLDs, asset registers)
• Supervise contractors and support upgrades, retrofits and commissioning
Experience Required
• Strong hands-on experience with data centre or mission-critical infrastructure (or similar environments)
• Expertise across electrical and/or mechanical systems and HVAC
• Experience with BMS/EMS systems and fault diagnosis
• Knowledge of safety and compliance standards
• Ability to work on-site in Chesterfield 5 days per week
