Deputy Head of Department (m/f/d) with a focus on technology
(Computer scientist, business computer scientist (m/f/d) or similar)

for Department 10.60 - Information and Technology Services.

This is a permanent full-time position. People with a severe will be given preference if equally qualified. We would like to further increase the proportion of women in management positions and therefore particularly welcome applications from women.

Remuneration is based on the provisions of the collective agreement for the public sector (TVöD-VKA) and, depending on qualifications and professional experience, is up to pay grade 14. This corresponds to an annual gross salary of around €64,500 to €91,900, depending on the respective experience level. In order to attract or retain particularly qualified specialists, a temporary labor market bonus may be granted in justified cases in accordance with the collective bargaining provisions of the TVöD-VKA.

Department 10.60 - Information and Technology Services plans, builds and operates the network of the Hochtaunus district and is also responsible for a large number of central services and applications. In addition to traditional information technology topics, the department is also responsible for setting up and developing a geoinfrastructure and an AI environment.

The department is organized in the form of a team structure and is divided into a total of 4 teams. As deputy head of the IT department, you will play a central role in the technical and further development of the IT landscape of the Hochtaunus district. In close coordination with the department and team leader(s), you will shape the strategic and operational goals of the department. The focus here is on technical operations, their safeguarding and further development.

Your tasks include in particular

  • Technical management and coordination of the technical teams in cooperation with the department management
  • Developing and implementing IT strategies in collaboration with department management
  • Planning, implementation management and monitoring of technical IT projects
  • Ensuring IT security and data protection in coordination with the relevant officers
  • Monitoring and ensuring technical documentation and processes
  • Participating in the planning of budget funds and their use
  • Collaboration with external service providers and other stakeholders
  • Deputizing for the head of department

We expect:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics or Computer Science or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable management position
  • Experience in server and client virtualization
  • Good knowledge in the area of ITSM such as ITIL
  • Good knowledge in the area of ISMS based on e.g. DIN or BSI basic protection (200-1 - 200-4)
  • Good knowledge of geoinformatics
  • Good knowledge of data center and network operation as well as security components
  • Good knowledge in the field of process automation
  • Basic knowledge of the use of AI in the corporate environment
  • Experience in process and project management
  • High degree of conceptual and systematic approach
  • Very good knowledge of German (written and spoken), comparable to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for (CEFR)
  • Driving license class B and willingness to use your own car for business trips
