Role Overview:

I am looking for 3 highly motivated individuals with a background in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering to join the Design & Product Development team, reporting directly to Head of Design & Product Development.

As Design Engineer - Civil, you will be responsible for owning and developing the next data centre campus designs and surrounding infrastructure. You will work with utility providers, Architects, internal and external design teams and supply chain across as technical subject matter expert.

As Design Engineer - Electrical, you will be responsible for owning and developing the next Electrical Infrastructure designs, both in front of and behind the meter. You will work with utility providers and energy technology vendors, systems integrators as well as the traditional data centre supply chain across HV, MV and LV and ELV as technical subject matter expert.

As Design Engineer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for owning and developing the next Mechanical Infrastructure designs, including heat export, multi-MW heat rejection, hall-scale air and direct to chip cooling infrastructures. You will work with new and established cooling technology vendors, systems integrators as well as the traditional data centre supply chain across as technical subject matter expert.

Across the board, the ideal candidate will have experience working as a senior engineer on major infrastructure projects, a background in contracting, consultancy or product technical development within Data Centre or Critical Infrastructure sectors, as well as a passion for seeing their concepts take shape during construction, all while working as part of a cohesive team.

You will partner with our local development and operations teams across all existing facilities, including the Nordics and London. However, you will be based in the London Head Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design: Own the Civil/Electrical/Mechanical infrastructure product from Strategic Brief through to handover to operations.
  • Vendor management: Foster relationships and drive external partner teams forward in early stages of data centre development, including technical feasibility, due diligence, permitting design.
  • Technical Feasibility: Market research for new and emerging data centre and energy technologies, development of technical whitepapers to support the Product Development Roadmap.
  • Product Management: Take ownership of key product initiatives within the company from concept to launch.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or Physical Science or similar field
  • 5 years’ experience as an individual contributor involved in the design or delivery of infrastructure projects, as a Civil Engineer.
  • Hands-on experience in Revit / Civil 3D
  • Professionally accredited, or ability to demonstrate on the path towards.
  • Track record of leading initiatives or projects to successful outcomes.
  • Interest in the built environment, technology and infrastructure
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel regularly between UK, Finland, and Iceland as part of the role.
