We’re looking for a seasoned Design Manager to join a leading M&E consultancy specialising in the data centre space across the EMEA!

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Design Manager with the hyperscale data centre space.

Responsibilities of a Design Manager on hyperscale data centre projects:

    \n
  • Responsible for running hyperscale data centre projects. Managing teams in the development, design and coordination of engineering project services for M&e installations, systems and facilities
  • \n

  • Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of bids 
  • \n

  • Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposes
  • \n

  • Surveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installations
  • \n

  • Ensure engineering calculations and drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards 
  • \n

  • Ensures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegation 
  • \n

  • Leads on the coordination of engineering services 
  • \n

 

Requirements to be a Design Manager on hyperscale data centre projects:

    \n
  • BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or have sufficient equivalent experience
  • \n

  • MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalent
  • \n

  • Chartered Eng status
  • \n

  • Significant experience of specification design for a range of building types
  • \n

  • Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation
  • \n

  • Good understanding of BS standards/ UK regulations/codes
  • \n

  • Experience and understanding of invoicing and credit control
  • \n

  • Background in consulting or construction
  • \n
