Design Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a major data centre project on a short-term contract for approximately 2–3 months.

The successful candidate will take a lead role in coordinating the design process, ensuring all design information is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with the project programme.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and coordinate the design process across multiple disciplines.

* Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and the client team.

* Review and coordinate drawings, specifications, and technical information.

* Identify and resolve design issues and clashes.

* Monitor design deliverables against the project programme.

* Manage RFIs, technical queries, design changes, and approvals.

* Ensure design complies with project requirements, relevant standards, and regulations.

* Attend design coordination and project meetings.

* Support the construction team with technical and design-related queries.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Design Manager on major construction projects.

* Previous data centre experience is highly desirable.

* Strong understanding of MEP and multidisciplinary design coordination.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* Ability to work to tight programmes and deadlines.

* Strong technical and organisational skills.

* Relevant construction/design qualification or equivalent experience.

* Duration: 2–3 months

* Rate: £425/day CIS

* Location: Newport

* Employment: Contract
