Position Design Manager\n\nLocation London\n\nPay Rate £400-a-day to £450-a-day\n\nContract length 6mths -24mths depending on performance with potential to extend\n\nThe Role\n\nAfter a series of project wins an exciting opportunity has arisen at one of UK’s largest main contractors. They are looking to recruit a Design Manager to join their New Build division. A highly successful company working on some of the UK’s most prestigious construction projects with an annual turnover more than £2bn and over 2000 employees nationwide.\n\nThey cover a range of sectors including Retail, Education, Commercial, blue lights, custodial, Data centres and Distribution.\n\nThe initial project you would be working on is an office new build scheme with a value of £15m.\n\nKey Accountabilities will include:\n\n * Manage the proposals\n\n * Produce and negotiate the project specific designer agreements scope of works and the design management plan, ensuring they are agreed and fully understood by all parties\n\n * Ensure the project design is reviewed, mitigating Health & Safety issues\n\n * Produce & manage a realistic design programme & information required schedule satisfying design, procurement & construction requirements\n\n * Provide input into the design team PDR's\n\n * Support the implementation of Continuous Improvement programmes and innovation.\n\nCandidate Experience\n\n * The successful individual will have worked for a main contractor or as lead Architect on new build projects previously.\n\n * Experience of new build projects of this vale (£15m) is essential.\n\n * The individual will have been the lead Design Manager or Architect on projects previously and will have experience taking projects from inception through to completion.\n\n * Excellent IT Skills, Numeracy and good written communications skills are required.\n\nThe Plus Points\n\nThis is a great opportunity to further your career with this leading main contractor and work in a stable environment.
