Design Manager - CSA\n\nBasic of £65-80,000 Benefits Listed\n\nStrong foot hold across Data Centres & Technology\n\nMain Contractor - Great career growth opportunities\n\nPotential Travel & International work in the future\n\nWe are seeking a Civil & Structural Engineer to be based on site handling Design & Technical Management for the Civil , Structural & Architecture packages on 10 + Mega Watt Data centres.\n\nManaging design development from concept through construction, ensuring buildability, cost efficiency, compliance, and integration with site operations. The desire is for this individual to have a BIAS towards the civil & engineering elements.\n\nThis person will feel comfortable pulling a project out the ground and handling an array of subterrain elements from earthworks excavation, muck shift , de-watering, piling, concrete slabs and general substructure works.\n\nA lot of time, money and energy is spent ensuring that the design is fit for purpose to compliment aggressive programs. These technology clients want a return upon the investment ASAP so it's all about program and thinking outside the box.\n\nThe projects you will be based on range from the London Region to the Midlands.
Depending upon timings and your location you will be placed on the project most suitable. For these reasons & to fit the culture of the business you need to be able to drive and be open to working away as the site locations aren't all next to public transportation locations.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Lead the in-house design of:\n\n * Piling systems (e.g., CFA, driven, rotary bored piles)\n\n * Ground-bearing and suspended concrete slabs\n\n * Associated substructures (pile caps, ground beams, rafts)\n\n * Manage design programs to align with construction sequencing\n\n * Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (e.g. Eurocodes, British Standards)\n\n * Co-ordinate between construction teams, temporary works & geo-technical\n\n * Ensure design solutions are practical, buildable, and aligned with methodology.\n\n * Review and improve when you can.
Is there a value engineering option ?\n\n * Resolve technical queries (RFIs) during construction.\n\n * Support in procurement & commercial inputs if called upon working in the SLT.\n\nSoftware\n\nStructural design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Robot, STAAD)\n\nAutoCAD / Revit (for coordination)\n\nExcel for design/calculations\n\nReporting Line\n\nReports to: Head of Design & Project Director\n\nInterfaces with: Project Managers, Site Managers, Commercial Team, External Consultants\n\nSuccess Measures (KPIs)\n\nTimely delivery of design packages\n\nReduction in design-related site issues\n\nCost savings through value engineering\n\nCompliance and zero major design NCRs\n\nSmooth coordination between design and construction\n\nRequirements\n\n * Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering\n\n * Chartered or working toward chartership (e.g., ICE or IStructE).\n\n * Clear communicator able to act concisely and calm\n\n * Strong technical understanding of concrete slab, temporary works & sub-structures\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * Salary range of £65-80,000 Basic\n\n * Up to 11 % Car allowance\n\n * Business related travel paid\n\n * If you need to stay over fully expensed apartment or Hotel will be provided\n\n * Competitive Pension & BONUS\n\n * Opportunities for career development and RAPID progression.\n\nIf this position is of interest & keen on a confidential discussion, please send an updated CV in word format including project experience
