Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planning Manager to oversee the project planning and scheduling activities across our data center development projects up to construction stage. This key role will focus on providing a coordinated and a strategic approach, executive and customer reports, ensuring compliance with established standards and stakeholder requirements and optimising project programmes for buildability and planning/utility constraints to align with our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in data center project planning, excellent communication skills, experience with preparing pre-construction planning documents and strong stakeholder engagement capabilities. They will be part of a dynamic and integrated team where the ability to provide high quality and accurate outputs at speed will be rewarded.
Key Responsibilities:
Standard Coordination :
- Ensure all pre-constructions are ‘sales ready’ and comply with the required standards from our customer.
- Engage with customer and sales teams to ensure the latest standards and requirements are properly circulated and adhered to, owning the role of any discussions around changes/ updates to requirements at development stage.
Reporting:
- Provide executive level reporting based on detailed preconstruction P6 programmes as required.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of project schedules to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance
- Assist in portfolio dashboard creation and maintain the upkeep to provide business wide transparency on current possible delivery milestones and constraints.
Planning and Scheduling:
- Create and oversee the creation of comprehensive pre-construction project schedules, ensuring alignment with industry standards and all requirements.
- Monitor and/or update project progress across the pre-construction programmes as per agreed reporting cadence and as required.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with consultant teams, project management, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines and benchmark data.
- Facilitate communication among project teams to ensure a clear understanding of project goals and deadlines.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Report directly to the Project Controls Director, providing insights and assessments on project scheduling status, risks, and performance metrics based on incoming reports.
- Analyze data and reports to assess project performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master’s degree .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.
- Proficiency in project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Knowledge of EMEA regulatory requirements related to data center development is a plus.
- Willingness to travel across the Region, as the business requires (25% min)
