Commercial Doors, Frames, and Hardware

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Division 8 Estimator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates and bid proposals for commercial construction projects involving hollow metal frames, wood doors, architectural hardware, and related opening products.

The estimator will review construction documents, develop detailed takeoffs, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and help ensure competitive and profitable project bids. This position works closely with project managers, detailers, and sales teams throughout the preconstruction process.

Experience with Comsense is strongly .

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project manuals for Division 8 scopes

• Perform quantity takeoffs for doors, frames, hardware, and related opening components

• Develop accurate project estimates using Comsense

• Prepare detailed bid proposals and scope clarifications

• Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors for pricing and product selection

• Identify value engineering opportunities when appropriate

• Maintain bid schedules and ensure deadlines are met

• Communicate with contractors, project managers, and internal teams regarding scope and pricing

• Assist with project handoff to project management after award

• Track bid results and maintain estimating documentation

Project Types

The company estimates and supplies openings for a wide variety of commercial construction projects including:

• Healthcare facilities and hospitals

• K-12 schools and universities

• Multi-family housing

• Government and municipal buildings

• Hospitality and mixed-use developments

• Data centers and industrial facilities

QualificationsRequired

• 3+ years of estimating experience in Division 8 (doors, frames, and hardware)

• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications

• Experience performing detailed takeoffs and bid preparation

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Experience using Comsense estimating software

• Knowledge of hollow metal, wood doors, and architectural hardware packages

• Familiarity with major hardware manufacturers and opening product lines

• Experience working with commercial subcontractors or distributors
