Director of Fiber Construction

Job Description

We’re partnering with a growing telecom construction firm seeking a Director of Fiber Construction to lead their OSP/ISP build programs—with a strong focus on data center and enterprise network projects.

This role suits a hands-on operations leader who knows how to turn engineering plans into high-quality, safely delivered builds. You’ll oversee regional construction teams, manage key clients, and ensure every project is delivered with precision and accountability.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for aerial, underground, and inside-plant fiber builds.
  • Oversee project managers, crews, and subcontractors to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients—serving as the senior point of contact on active programs.
  • Implement standardized construction workflows, QA/QC processes, and safety protocols.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop field leadership talent.
  • Drive operational excellence through resource planning, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years in OSP/ISP fiber construction, including 3+ years in a senior leadership or operations management role.
  • Proven success managing data center or large-scale fiber builds from planning through close-out.
  • Deep knowledge of fiber splicing, testing (OTDR), make-ready, permitting, and construction standards.
  • Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
  • OSHA certification and a commitment to a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Ability to travel regionally (up to 35–40%).

Why It’s a Great Move

  • Step into a strategic leadership role shaping the future of a fast-growing construction division.
  • Join a collaborative, people-first culture built on accountability and respect.
  • Work on high-visibility fiber and data center projects that power enterprise connectivity.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and long-term growth opportunity.
