The Director of IT Operations owns Quantum’s global IT operations and service delivery. This includes infrastructure and data centers, HelpDesk/client services, enterprise software strategy, licensing, and ensuring security and compliance across the technology stack. The role partners closely with Finance, Security/InfoSec, Product Ops, and PMO to align IT services with business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Ensure uptime, capacity, performance, and resiliency across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Manage global data centers and execute maintenance/change windows.
  • Establish SLAs and operational dashboards.

HelpDesk & Client Services

  • Lead Client Services and oversee the ticketing system (TrackIt → Halo) transition.
  • Standardize global HelpDesk communications.

Security & Compliance Operations

  • Drive vulnerability management and enforce endpoint standards.
  • Uphold encryption practices and Acceptable Use & InfoSec controls.

Enterprise Software Strategy & Architecture

  • Define enterprise software strategy and partner on AI-enabled service initiatives.
  • Set standards for MFA, RBAC, and logging.

Enterprise Licensing & Vendor Management

  • Own Microsoft EA lifecycle and oversee collaboration/training platforms.
  • Align licensing models with product realities.

Reporting Structure:

Directly leads these teams/functions:

  • Client Services / HelpDesk – led by Information Technology Client Services Manager.
  • Data Center & Infrastructure – led by Global Data Center Manager.
  • Management Information Systems (MIS) – led by MIS Manager.
  • Security & Compliance Operations – includes IT Security Analyst and Compliance Analyst.

Required Competencies:

  • Leadership across Client Services, Infrastructure, MIS/Apps, and SecOps.
  • Security & Compliance expertise (vulnerability tools, endpoint protection, encryption).
  • Enterprise Software Strategy & Architecture experience.
  • Licensing & Vendor Management skills.
  • Strong communication and governance discipline.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 10–15+ years in IT operations with global scope.
  • 5+ years leading multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Success with Microsoft ecosystem:
    • Microsoft 365, Teams, PowerAutomate, Copilot, Entra ID, D365.
    • Deep understanding of collaboration tools and automation workflows.
  • Enterprise licensing ownership and renewal negotiations.
  • Familiarity with SIEM/SOAR integrations and endpoint protection.
  • Able to work on-site from Centennial, CO 3-5 days per week.

Expanded AI Enablement Requirement:

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI technologies to:
    • Automate workflows and reduce manual processes
    • Enhance team efficiency and agility
    • Replace or consolidate redundant applications
    • Drive predictive analytics for IT operations and security posture
  • Experience integrating AI-driven tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, AI-enabled service desk) into enterprise environments.

Anticipated Salary Range: $165,000 to $190,000 for qualified applicants.

The above pay range represents Quantum's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Pay within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, knowledge/education, skills/abilities, internal equity, and budgetary considerations.
