The Role
As a Managed services director, you will provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of large, complex projects within the data centre space.
You will be accountable for operational performance, resource allocation, client meetings, financial results, risk management, while ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest quality and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of large-scale projects, proactively identifying and mitigating risk
- Lead and manage Operations, Project, and Site Managers across the business unit
- Review and approve high-level project deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
- Ensure engagement reviews and quality assurance processes are completed effectively
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust operational processes and governance
- Define and deliver strategic objectives aligned with broader departmental and corporate initiatives
- Resource allocation
- Own profit and loss reporting for the business unit
- Ensure delivery against budgeted financial targets, including revenue and margin
- Set, manage, and achieve revenue and other financial performance goals
- Lead or support contract pricing negotiations where required
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term client relationships
- Communicate key business unit performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
- Manage complex or sensitive people issues with professionalism, discretion, and appropriate HR support
- Regularly evaluate and evolve business unit service offerings
- Understand the impact of technical decisions and guide clients toward optimal solutions
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive senior management experience within a project-driven environment
- Strong understanding of industry-standard project delivery methodologies
- Excellent knowledge of project contracts, scope management, and deliverables
- In-depth knowledge of PRINCE2 standards
- Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Exceptional customer service and stakeholder management skills
- Good working knowledge of relevant industry tools, systems, processes, and partners
- Strong ownership mindset with sound judgement and decision-making capability
- Excellent people leadership and team management skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with corporate strategy
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- High level of commercial awareness and financial acumen
