One of our more prominent engineering clients is appointing a Director of MEP Engineering to lead and scale its building services practice nationally. This is a genuinely remote leadership seat: you will own the technical direction, delivery quality and commercial performance of the MEP group, working with project teams and clients across multiple states.

The firm has a strong pipeline across healthcare, mission-critical/data centers, higher education, commercial and mixed-use development and needs a leader who can convert that demand into a repeatable, well-run practice rather than a collection of individual projects.

What you'll be doing
\n
\n
- \n
- Leading the MEP practice across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design, setting technical standards and holding the line on quality
- Owning practice P&L: utilization, forecasting, resourcing and margin performance
- Acting as engineer of record and senior technical authority on complex schemes, providing QA/QC oversight and stamping across multiple jurisdictions
- Building and mentoring a distributed team of project engineers, designers and discipline leads, with clear development paths and succession
- Driving business development: owner and architect relationships, proposals, negotiation, and repeat work from key accounts
- Working with architectural and structural counterparts to deliver coordinated, constructible designs from concept through construction administration
- Guiding the practice on energy modeling, decarbonization, electrification and code compliance as client expectations shift

What you'll bring
\n
- \n
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, with multi-state licensure or the ability to obtain it via comity; LEED AP, CEM, CxA or similar an advantage
- Proven record of winning and delivering work you can point to clients you brought in and teams you built
- Deep design command across HVAC systems, power distribution, lighting, plumbing and fire protection, with fluency in Revit/BIM workflows and current energy and building codes
- Experience leading remote or multi-office teams, with the discipline that distributed delivery demands
