Director of Operations

Job Description

Director of Operations in Laramie, WY — Big Responsibility, Low Bureaucracy, Impact employees and projects across the mountain west.

We’re looking for a builder — someone who thrives on execution, communicates with clarity, and knows how to lead teams and run demanding projects. If you’re a top performer in civil construction who wants the responsibility you can’t get in a big company, this is your moment to step into a true leadership position and help scale a fast‑growing contractor that still cares about its people.

Base Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 DOE | Generous Profit Sharing | Vehicle Allowance

Rocky Mountain Reclamation (RMR) is searching for a true operator — someone hungry, sharp, and ready to step into a real leadership seat. If you’re an emerging leader in civil construction who wants to accelerate your career, help shape company culture, positively impact the environment and wildlife, and have continued opportunities for advancement, this is that opportunity.

RMR is one of the Mountain West’s top environmental and civil specialty contractors, completing 150+ projects annually across 11+ western states. We support renewable energy, data centers, parks, highways, mines, and major civil infrastructure. We’re growing fast, and we’re building a company where people matter — professionally, relationally, physically, financially, and emotionally.

This role is based in Laramie, Wyoming — a place with no state income tax, low cost of living, small‑town pace, and quick access to mountains, recreation, and the Front Range. It’s a lifestyle upgrade for the right person.

Why This Role is Different

·      Direct mentorship from a successful industry CEO who will invest in your development

·      A chance to make a bigger impact with less bureaucracy than large corporate contractors

·      A balanced life in Laramie — affordable, slower pace, short commute, and minutes from world‑class outdoor access

·      RMR is more than a typical construction company; we are intentional in the care of our people and their overall well-being

If you’re a builder who thrives on responsibility, communication, and execution, you’ll fit right in.

Your Mission

As the day‑to‑day operator of RMR your mission is to scale the company from $11M to $20M+ in the next phase of growth. But not just be a builder of the company, but also a builder of people.

·      Build budgets and monitor key performance metrics

·      Strengthen customer relationships and communication

·      Identify opportunities for expansion and efficiency

·      Oversee equipment and fleet operations (CEO retains capex authority)

·      Recommend hiring/firing decisions for CEO approval

This is a balanced role — part systems builder, part field‑execution leader, part strategic operator.

Who You Are

·      A cost control champion that maintains profitability and competitiveness

·      A lifelong learner that sees opportunities around every corner

·      A hungry builder early in your career, with c-suite potential

·      Calm under pressure, disciplined in execution, entrepreneurial in mindset

·      Ability to instill confidence in customers and respond to their needs

Compensation & Benefits

·      Base Salary: $125,000+ DOE; salary increase with the incubation of a business line that you bring with you
