Document Controller – Luxury Cabin Development

Location: Fathingstone, Northampton, UK

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 (DOE) + Package

️ Project Value (M&E): £50M

I am working with a thriving and highly respected mechanical and electrical contractor, recognised as a market leader across the UK. With a proven track record in large-scale commercial offices, residential schemes, and data centre delivery – and experience spanning projects from small works through to contracts in excess of £60M – they are now seeking a confident Document Controller to support a landmark luxury cabin development project in Northampton. This flagship project involves the construction of a series of ultra-high-specification cabins, offering a unique opportunity to play a key role in delivering a truly distinctive development.

As Document Controller, you will be responsible for the effective management, coordination, and control of all project documentation – with a strong focus on M&E drawings, specifications, and technical submittals. You will act as a central point of contact for the project team and supply chain, ensuring documents are accurate, compliant, and easily accessible to support project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, register, track, and distribute documentation including drawings, RFIs, technical submittals, method statements and test certifications.
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure documentation is submitted, reviewed and approved in line with programme requirements.
  • Maintain robust version control and ensure compliance with project QA/document protocols.
  • Support coordination meetings by preparing and issuing accurate document packages and drawing registers.
  • Manage document transmittals, trackers, logs, and audit trails to ensure clear visibility of document status at all times.
  • Provide ongoing support to project delivery teams, promoting best practice in document control processes and systems.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Document Controller within construction.
  • Strong understanding of document management systems, version control and QA procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders including subcontractors and consultants.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Northampton.
