Document Controller

London (Canary Wharf) – on-site, 5 days per week

Initial 3-month contract with permanent opportunities there after

A well-established and growing Principal Contractor is seeking an experienced Document Controller to join their team on a £18.5m commercial fit-out project based in Canary Wharf.

The business has demonstrated consistent year-on-year growth, delivering projects directly for end-user clients across the commercial, data centre, and specialist sectors. They are known for their financial stability, strong staff retention, and clear career progression opportunities.

Key Details

  • Project: £18.5m commercial fit-out, Canary Wharf
  • Rate: £240 – £250 per day (outside IR35)
  • Systems: Procore (essential), 1Breadcrumb (advantageous)

Skills & Experience

  • Proven Procore experience, ideally within a main contractor environment
  • Experience using 1Breadcrumb (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of document naming conventions, revision control, structured filing, and controlled issue processes
  • Previous experience supporting document control on large, complex, or fast-paced construction projects
  • Permit management experience or familiarity with permit-to-work systems
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator able to liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other standard business applications
  • Ability to prioritise workload, manage deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
  • Comfortable adopting new digital platforms, workflows, and document management systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide document control support to the project delivery team
  • Manage the organisation, accuracy, and flow of all project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with project-specific naming conventions, revision control procedures, and approval workflows
  • Maintain efficient project governance through correct issuing, tracking, and storage of documentation
  • Liaise closely with the Project Manager, client representatives, and subcontractors to support effective information flow
  • Support controlled issue processes and structured filing throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist with permit management or permit-to-work systems as required
