Position Summary
The Electrical Drafter creates clear, accurate AutoCAD drawings and wiring documentation that support low-voltage controls, BMS, and EPMS installations. This role works directly with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership to support pre-construction, coordination, and as-built deliverables across multiple active projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Produce and maintain AutoCAD drawings, including plans, sections, conduit/raceway layouts, panel layouts, and as-builts.
• Create and update wiring diagrams, schematics, loop diagrams, and I/O lists for BMS/EPMS and other low-voltage systems.
• Convert field redlines and site measurements into completed drawing sets.
• Perform quality checks to confirm accuracy and completeness.
• Support document control: file naming, versioning, PDF publishing, and drawing registers.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to resolve drawing questions and incorporate RFI/submittal updates.
• Assist with pre-construction needs such as takeoffs, preliminary layouts, and basic clash coordination.
Required Qualifications
• Experience in electrical or low-voltage drafting.
• Strong AutoCAD proficiency.
• Ability to read and create wiring diagrams and panel layouts.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for cable schedules and related documents.
• Strong attention to detail with consistent follow-through.
• Ability to manage several projects at once and communicate clearly with field personnel.
Qualifications
• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or related discipline.
• Familiarity with BMS/EPMS controls and common electrical construction terminology.
• Exposure to Revit, Navisworks, or basic BIM workflows.

Work Conditions
On-site position based in Sterling, VA. Local travel to job sites may be required for measurements and coordination.
