Overview
Our customer is a well-established telecom construction partner with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality network infrastructure projects across multiple regions. We are seeking experienced Drop Install / Telecom Field Technicians to support fiber deployment projects in and around the Kalispell area. This role focuses on customer-side drop installations, conduit placement, and pathway preparation. Candidates should be comfortable working in outdoor construction environments and capable of performing physically demanding tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and maintain fiber drop lines from mainline to customer locations
- Perform trenching, hand-digging, boring, and conduit placement
- Assist with installation of vaults, pedestals, and handholes
- Pull, place, and secure fiber or conduit per project specifications
- Restore job sites to acceptable condition after installation
- Read and interpret construction prints and work orders
- Coordinate with supervisors, splicing teams, and OSP crews#
- Follow all safety guidelines and quality standards
Required Qualifications
- Experience in drop installation, telecom field work, or underground utility construction
- Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment
- Strong commitment to safety and jobsite awareness
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Qualifications
- Experience with OSP fiber or telecom construction projects
- Familiarity with utility locating, right-of-way work, or permitting processes
- CDL or experience operating construction equipment ( but not required)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Work Environment / Additional Information
- Onsite, field-based role in outdoor environments
- Work performed within a 2–3 hour radius of Kalispell
- Occasional travel requiring overnight stays (hotel accommodations provided when applicable)
- Work involves physically demanding tasks including digging, lifting, and working in various weather conditions
Compensation
- $30/hour - $45/hour (based on experience)
