Electrical Design Engineer (Contract – Outside IR35)

Location: North London (Office-Based)

Contract Duration: Minimum 6 Months

We’re looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering consultancy on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-impact data centre and building services projects, working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conduct site surveys, testing, and reporting on existing installations
• Attend technical meetings with design teams and contractors
• Perform electrical calculations using Amtech, ProDesign, or similar tools
• Prepare technical drawings and tender specifications
• Mentor and support junior engineers and trainees

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in electrical design across various building types
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Familiarity with British Standards and building regulations
• Excellent time management and attention to detail
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Environmental Engineering
• HNC/ONC/BTEC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent

This role is outside IR35 and based on-site in North London.
