Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Salary: $100,000/year (W2)
Key Responsibilities
- Commission and test LV/MV electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, generators, UPS, grounding systems, and protection relays.
- Perform FAT, SAT, loop checks, insulation resistance testing, primary/secondary injection testing, and relay testing.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems during start-up and commissioning activities.
- Review electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, vendors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare commissioning reports, test documentation, and project handover packages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of electrical commissioning, testing, and start-up experience.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA standards.
- Experience with industrial facilities, power systems, oil & gas, data centers, or similar environments.
- Proficient with electrical testing equipment including IR testers, relay test kits, primary/secondary injection, and Hi-Pot testing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.

- NETA Level II/III/IV
- PE License (Texas )
- OSHA 30 / NFPA 70E
- PMP
