About the Role

2NSystems is seeking an experienced Electrical/Mechanical Engineer – Power & Cooling Solutions to join our Engineering team. In this role, you’ll serve as a subject matter expert on mission-critical power and cooling infrastructure, with a focus on data center environments. You’ll design scalable, efficient, and resilient solutions while producing detailed technical drawings, providing accurate job cost estimates, and collaborating closely with internal teams, external partners, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

This position is based in Roanoke, Virginia, with flexibility for highly qualified remote candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Develop 2D/3D CAD drawings and Bluebeam-Revu documentation for power distribution, HVAC, and cooling architecture.

Ensure all designs align with industry codes, standards, and best practices.

Act as SME for UPS systems, generators, switchgear, precision cooling, airflow, and chilled water systems.

Generate detailed job cost estimates, including labor, materials, and timelines.

Maintain and update drawing libraries, documentation, and SOPs.

Stay up to date with emerging technologies and regulatory changes.

Collaborate with project teams, engineering firms, vendors, and customers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Participate in design reviews and guide project execution to meet technical and business goals.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

5+ years of experience in data center or mission-critical infrastructure design.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam-Revu, or equivalent drafting tools.

Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems in critical facilities.

Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Professional Engineer (PE) license but not required.

Bonus Skills

Experience with energy efficiency modeling tools.

Familiarity with Tier III/IV design standards and Uptime Institute guidelines.

PMP certification or similar project management credentials.
