The Role
SII Group USA is hiring four (4) Power Systems / Project Management Engineers to support mission-critical Data Center projects for one of our custonmer across Texas.
This role combines hands-on power systems engineering with project execution and customer-facing responsibilities, supporting the delivery of electrical protection, control, and automation systems for Data Center power infrastructure. Projects typically cover the full lifecycle from design and testing through commissioning and site support.
Engineers with experience in protection relays and/or PLCs are encouraged to apply. Candidates from industrial or process automation backgrounds (e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities) are also welcome and can be trained on Data Center–specific power system applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, test, and commission protection relays (SEL, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or equivalent) for Data Center electrical systems
- Perform testing using secondary injection test sets (Omicron CMC356, Megger, or equivalent)
- Implement Data Center power system applications such as:
Auto Transfer / Auto Throw Over (ATO)
Zone Selective Interlocking (ZSI)
Arc Flash protection
Breaker control and load shedding/restoration
- Develop relay logic using IEC 61850 (GOOSE messaging)
- Develop and support PLC-based solutions using:
Schneider Electric Modicon (M340, M580, M25x)
Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)
- Configure HMI systems (Vijeo Designer, Web HMI / EPAS)
- Support generator control and backup power systems (low volume)
- Participate in project planning, execution, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and site support
- Act as a technical interface with Data Center clients, EPCs, and internal project teams
- Travel to customer sites as required (primarily within Texas)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems )
- Experience with protection relays and/or PLC systems
- Hands-on experience with testing, commissioning, or site execution
- Experience working on customer-facing engineering projects
- Strong communication and coordination skills
Qualifications
- Experience with Data Center electrical infrastructure
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 and substation communications
- Exposure to mission-critical environments (Data Centers, utilities, , transmission)
- Familiarity with generator controllers (DSLC, MSLC, EasyGen, or equivalent)
- Project coordination or project management experience
