Electrical Project Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Electrical Project Engineer to support the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects. This role bridges engineering design and project management, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all technical and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has a solid electrical engineering foundation, strong coordination skills, and experience supporting commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects from design through construction and closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support electrical engineering projects from design through construction and commissioning
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
  • Coordinate with project managers, designers, contractors, and field teams
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs for accuracy and constructability
  • Assist in the preparation of electrical system layouts, single‑line diagrams, and load calculations
  • Track equipment procurement, deliveries, and installation progress
  • Participate in project meetings, site walks, and inspections
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and local AHJs)
  • Support change order development and documentation
  • Assist with quality control, testing, commissioning, and project closeout documentation
  • Maintain accurate project records, reports, and as‑built documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering or project support roles
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems including:
  • Power distribution
  • Lighting and controls
  • Grounding and bonding
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency with engineering and project tools (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced project environment

Qualifications

  • EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, or utility projects
  • Familiarity with design‑build or EPC project delivery methods
  • Experience working with construction teams and field installation activities
  • Knowledge of project management platforms (Procore, MS Project, Primavera, etc.)
