Electrical Purchasing Specialist (Industrial / Mission-Critical)

Location: Chandler, AZ (Relocation Available)

Why This Role Is Different

This is not a desk-based purchasing role.

You’ll be embedded in a fast-paced industrial construction project, directly impacting schedule, cost, and field productivity by managing procurement of critical electrical systems.

We’re looking for someone who understands industrial electrical materials, jobsite urgency, and long-lead equipment—not just spreadsheets.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

⚡ Electrical Procurement (Core Focus)

  • Procure major electrical components:
    • Switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panelboards
    • Conduit (EMT/RMC), cable tray systems
    • Medium & low voltage wire/cable
    • Lighting, controls, and grounding systems
  • Manage long-lead equipment tied to project critical path
  • Issue RFQs, level bids, and award vendors
  • Negotiate pricing, freight, and lead times

 

Schedule-Driven Execution

  • Work directly with PMs and field teams to forecast material demand
  • Align procurement with construction sequencing
  • Prevent field downtime due to material gaps
  • Track deliveries and escalate delays immediately

 

Cost & Project Performance

  • Track committed costs vs. budget
  • Support project buyout strategy
  • Review and manage material-related change orders
  • Maintain accurate procurement logs and reporting

 

Vendor & Technical Coordination

  • Manage vendor relationships and performance
  • Ensure materials meet project specs and submittals
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and field teams
  • Support high-spec environments (industrial, mission-critical, etc.)

 

What We’re Looking For

✅ 4–10+ years in electrical purchasing or project procurement
✅ Strong knowledge of:

  • Industrial electrical materials
  • Power distribution equipment
  • Construction-driven procurement

✅ Experience in one or more:

  • Industrial construction
  • Data centers / mission-critical
  • Manufacturing / heavy industrial
  • Semiconductor (, NOT required)

✅ Ability to:

  • Read electrical drawings and specs
  • Manage long-lead items and vendor timelines
  • Operate with urgency in a project-driven environment

 

Bonus Experience

  • Semiconductor or cleanroom projects
  • BIM or coordinated construction environments
  • Large-scale or fast-track builds
