Job Title: Electrical Superintendent (Mission-Critical Projects)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Salary: $130,000 – $160,000
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale, mission-critical construction projects including data centers, healthcare facilities, airports, and other high-reliability infrastructure. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple projects with electrical scopes exceeding $100M while managing large field teams of 50–200+ electricians, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution.
The ideal candidate brings deep field leadership experience, a strong understanding of complex electrical systems, and a proven track record managing large crews across concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for field operations across multiple large-scale electrical projects
- Supervise and mentor Superintendents, General Foremen, and field crews of 50–200+ electricians per project
- Plan and manage manpower needs, including forecasting, staffing, and labor leveling across multiple crews and projects
- Lead execution of mission-critical systems including redundant power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and critical infrastructure
- Coordinate and manage large-scale workforce deployment, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and schedule adherence
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Preconstruction teams on:
- Constructability reviews
- Scheduling and sequencing
- Logistics and site planning
- Ensure all installations comply with NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, project specifications, and applicable codes
- Drive a strong safety-first culture across large crews and multiple job sites
- Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality installations and successful inspections
- Support project financial performance by participating in:
- Cost-to-complete reviews
- Productivity tracking across large crews
- Change order management
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, inspectors (AHJs), and trade partners
- Lead commissioning, energization, and turnover processes for mission-critical systems
- Resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts proactively
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in electrical construction with progressive field leadership roles
- Proven experience delivering mission-critical projects such as:
- Data centers
- Hospitals / healthcare facilities
- Airports or transportation hubs
- Demonstrated success managing electrical scopes valued at $100M+
- Proven ability to lead and manage large field teams of 50–200+ electricians across multiple projects
- Experience coordinating multiple crews, foremen, and superintendents simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of:
- NEC (NFPA 70)
- NFPA 70E safety standards
- Electrical systems for critical infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Construction drawings and one-lines
- Shop drawings and submittals
- BIM/VDC models
- Experience with commissioning and startup of complex electrical systems
- Proficiency in construction technology platforms (e.g., Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, LaborChart, Microsoft 365)
Certifications & Requirements
- Active Journeyman or Master Electrician License
- OSHA 30 Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in active construction environments (indoor/outdoor)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical jobsite tasks
- Willingness to work extended hours or off-shift schedules as required
