Job Summary

Seeking an Electrical Technician II to join the Operations & Maintenance team in New Albany, Ohio.

This role performs intermediate-level electrical maintenance, including preventive and corrective work on HVAC systems, power distribution, UPS systems, generators, electrical controls, and monitoring systems.

The Electrical Technician II prioritizes and completes assigned work on time, maintains required documentation, and supports site engineering teams to meet facility electrical needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Maintain current and future facility electrical systems.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and control circuits ranging from 24V to 480V AC.
  • Work with electro-mechanical test devices, instrumentation systems, PLCs/ladder logic controllers, and variable frequency drives.
  • Work safely near or around 13.8kV systems.
  • Support facility electrical expansion projects.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems such as servers, network equipment, PLCs, access control systems, alarms, SCADA systems, and system administration tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and correct safety-related issues.
  • Perform independent equipment evaluations to detect and prevent potential failures.
  • Preventive Maintenance & Operations
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production/process equipment as scheduled through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Operate diagnostic, measurement, and testing tools to support energy-efficiency solutions.
  • Operate tools and equipment including hand tools, laptop computers, and diagnostic hardware.
  • Maintain a strict schedule while demonstrating flexibility for customer needs.
  • Conduct routine system tours and read/interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, and sequence of operations.

Compliance & Safety

  • Adhere to federal, state, and local electrical codes, including NFPA 70E.
  • Follow all company policies, safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Promote and adhere to the Amentum Safety Structure.
  • Respond to work orders promptly while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Customer Service & Team Support
  • Provide service updates and professional communication to customers.
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting and operational tasks.
  • Analyze and resolve work issues or provide staff assistance when needed.
  • Participate in other tasks assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent combination of training/experience.
  • 3–4 years of electrical experience in a data center, industrial environment, hospital, or manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to work in an aerial or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or more.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Additional Requirements
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • Ability to obtain a security access badge at client location.
  • May require a valid driver’s license.
  • May require weekends, shift work, overtime, or alternative schedules.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking throughout facility.
  • Ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladders, and stairs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, stretch, and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Ability to differentiate -coded wiring.
  • Must be able to read/interpret documents and computer-displayed information.
  • Frequent use of office equipment and computer keyboard.
  • Must communicate effectively by phone, in groups, and in person.
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations professionally.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office applications.

 

Special Requirements

  • Must wear PPE including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
  • Ability to cope with high-demand environments.
  • Experience working with chemicals, precision equipment, and regulated materials.
  • Experience using micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and calipers to set tolerances per OEM specifications.
