The Electrical Test Technician 1 is responsible for testing and troubleshooting Power Distribution Equipment and related components while ensuring quality workmanship, reliability, and safety in all Test areas. This role plays a key part in maintaining product integrity and supporting manufacturing needs across departments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Test and verify the performance/function of power distribution equipment and assemblies using multi-meters, current meters, HI-POT testers, phase rotation meters, and other testing equipment.
  • Perform factory testing on PDUs, Switchgear, STS, Databar product line, and Injection Testing.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine assembly/testing methods.
  • Follow inspection and testing procedures to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Record accurate data during testing using programs such as Modbus Poll, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and other specialized software.
  • Inspect all electrical equipment entering Test areas.
  • Complete technical reports and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Install and verify revolving cable layouts.
  • Perform minor repairs and escalate complex test issues to the Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production requirements.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Test Supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment while adhering to company safety protocols.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

RequirementsEducation & Experience

    • High School Diploma or GED with 1–2 years of experience testing low-voltage distribution systems.
    • : Two-year technical degree in electronics, engineering, or related field.
    • Alternative: Military training/experience in electronics, electricity, or engineering.

Technical Knowledge

    • Familiarity with L/V Switchgear, PDUs, Remote Power Panels, Static Switches, and Powered Busway Systems.
    • Data Center or mission-critical systems experience is a plus.
    • Understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, and IEC safety/electrical codes.
    • Knowledge of 3-Phase Power, DC Power, AC/DC power distribution, and electrical power .
    • Troubleshooting ability down to circuit board & component level.
    • Skilled with hand tools, test equipment, and schematic interpretation.
