About the Role
We are seeking qualified, confident, and collaborative Entry-Level Engineers with an interest in specializing in life safety/fire protection to join our New York office.  This is an exciting opportunity to launch your career with a firm known for engineering excellence and innovation.

As an Electrical Engineer at JB&B, you'll work on a wide range of projects- varying in size, complexity, and duration - across multiple sectors.  You'll collaborate with senior engineers and partners, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship while contributing to impactful client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks on fit-out, base building, and infrastructure upgrade projects
  • Assemble fire alarm riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans
  • Assist in planning and coordinating routing of major backbone equipment, closets, shafts, and risers
  • Review shop drawings and perform site visits and punch lists under senior supervision
  • Assist in developing fire alarm writing diagrams, device layouts, and riser diagrams
  • Lay out fire alarm closets, command centers, and panels; perform basic battery and voltage drop calculations using software
  • Conduct site surveys, punch lists, and design reviews
  • Coordinate with peers in other trades
  • Review and interpret local, state, and building/fire codes (e.g., NFPA, IBC, IFC)

Minimum Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required
  • 0-1 years of MEP design engineering experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated success collaborating in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of design software tools, Revit and AutoCAD

Estimated compensation range: $79,000-$82,000 annual salary
