About the Role
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees and coordinates the daily operations of highly skilled engineering staff while ensuring that company objectives and goals are met. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager also assists operators, technicians, design engineers, operations management, and project managers to ensure the timely manufacturing of Tate’s product offerings delivering on Tate’s brand promises. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager also provides guidance on the implementation of best practices to maximize energy efficiency and effectiveness.
What You’ll Do
- Leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, testing, production, and research and development of new and existing product lines.
- Facilitates communication among operations and design engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
- Establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Develops and manages capex projects to increase efficiency and output.
- Maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
- Evaluates design specifications and provides product recommendations to improve manufacturability.
- Creates drawings from CAD models, including part and assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing, testing and assembly, and support components to assist with assembly.
- Supports product sourcing, purchasing and selection as required by the design process.
- Provides technical and engineering support for day-to-day processing and process improvements.
- Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
- Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and system capabilities, and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
- Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Participates in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and codes.
- Designs parts, components, and assemblies to meet requirements of assigned projects.
- Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Additional Expectations
- Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
- Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
- Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
- Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline; 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- General knowledge base of manufacturing technology and associated equipment required.
- Strong knowledge of CAD modeling, drawings and machine design with experience in design analyses. Experience with SolidWorks is a plus
- Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Teams).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills required.
