Position: Engineering Manager
Location: Washington DC
Education: M.S. or B.S. in Computer Science or relevant field. At least 6-8 years of experience. Certification in one of more of the following : ITIL, Certified Scrum Master, CMMI L3, and/or VMware Certified Professional, Cloud.
Clearance: Must be a US . Active Top-Secret Clearance Required.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ experience of infrastructure engineering management supporting VMware virtualization, Cloud, or similar environments.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Oversees design and build engineering activities, special projects, and operational tier-3 engineering support, across Cloud environments and three on-premise data centers, supporting technologies such as Microsoft Azure, VMware, Dell VxRail, vSAN, vROps, TripWire, Splunk, PowerBI, Windows Active Directory (AD).
- Manages lane leads for engineering teams, providing support across the following lanes: Cloud, hyperconverged, data protection, monitoring, and security engineering.
- Initiates and facilitates communications among contract leadership, Government leadership, and team members, including reports, briefing decks, conducting meetings, and posting to MS Teams and SharePoint collaboration sites.
- Ensures engineering team compliance with established IT service management (ITSM) processes, security policies, and contractual requirements. Oversees Quality Control Plan (QCP), monitors service levels, analyzes gaps, and oversees corrective actions and service improvements.
- Facilitates and assigns resources to implement engineering projects, taskers, and tickets.
- Conducts interviews and provides input for staffing decisions to build a talented workforce.
- Cultivates a culture of recognition and appreciation to positively impact team morale and service delivery.
- Executes and tracks administrative actions to closure, including reporting, data calls, and staff management activities.
