About the Role:

Hixardt seeks an Entry-Level IT Service Desk Technician for a full-time position. This Help Desk role is ideal for individuals eager to start their IT career and gain hands-on experience. You will provide technical support for desktops and laptops, troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, resolve printing issues, and assist with basic internet connectivity problems.

This is a remote-first position with occasional onsite visits in the DC Metro (Rockville MD, Chevy Chase MD, District Heights, and Washington DC) to assist users and act as the onsite IT support resource for complex issues under the supervision of senior IT staff.

Essential Functions:

Deliver end-user support for desktops and laptops, including:

  • Troubleshooting Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Resolving printing issues and internet connectivity problems
  • Respond to service requests using enterprise ticketing systems and maintain clear communication with users.

Work remotely for most tasks, but be available for onsite IT support when needed to:

  • Assist users with general desktop and laptop issues
  • Act as the hands-on resource for complex issues under senior IT staff guidance
  • Escalate unresolved issues promptly and follow established SLAs.

Education & Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree
  • CompTIA A+ certification required
  • Additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+ or Server+) are a plus

Knowledge & Skills:

Basic understanding of:

  • Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Microsoft 365 applications
  • Internet connectivity troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience:

  • Entry-level position prior IT support experience is helpful but not required
  • Ideal for candidates looking to start a career in technical support and gain hands-on experience
