POSITION SUMMARY

Epsilon is seeking a full-time Environmental Compliance Specialist. The primary responsibilities of this position include the site inspection of multiple utility construction projects for compliance with Project Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and other relevant federal, state and local environmental permits. This position will be within our growing Energy Services practice that is currently supporting clients on a variety of terrestrial energy projects including electric transmission and distribution, battery energy storage, natural gas, data centers and geothermal.

The successful candidate must be able to work efficiently and independently while conducting inspections of stormwater best management practices on construction projects, periodically in locations with little infrastructure. Site inspections also include preparation of inspection and other technical reports, construction oversight of work in sensitive resource areas and interfacing with clients, contractors and regulatory agencies on projects. Other tasks may include, but may not be limited to:

  • Assisting with the development of project SWPPPs and client specific environmental compliance guidance documents
  • Field reviews for structural SWPPP controls
  • Construction personnel Training and contractor environmental compliance support
  • Wetland delineations and field data collection
  • Habitat assessments for listed species and other biological resources
  • Environmental constraints analyses and desktop assessments
  • Federal, state and local environmental permitting

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5+ years of experience working in environmental consulting, construction management, environmental agency, or similar professional work;
  • BS degree in Environmental / Ecological Science, Construction Management, Environmental Engineering or related degree.
  • Experience conducting stormwater and/or environmental inspections for projects
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to utilize computer software such as Google Earth, Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, and smartphone applications
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with project staff, client representatives, and regulatory agencies
  • Experience operating equipment such as GPS, laser range finders, cameras, etc.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Stormwater erosion and sediment control certification(s)
  • Experience with wetland delineations and/or threatened/endangered species assessments is

In addition to the Qualifications, the Candidate must have a valid drivers license to operate a motor vehicle for business travel, including proper insurance and registration and have all necessary paperwork to work in the USA.

SALARY RANGE

Epsilon's pay range for this position is $65,000-$105,000 USD per year. Pay within this range is commensurate with experience and other job-related factors including but not limited to credentials, skill, and geographic location.
