Compensation: $45.00 – $50.00 per hour
Local candidates – Per diem considered for travelers
Employment Type: Full-Time
Immediate need through July 2026 (potentially extended pending new contract)
Position Overview
SAVI EHS is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager with 5+ years of construction safety experience to oversee safety operations on a major data center construction project in Aldie, Virginia. This role is ideal for a seasoned safety professional with strong leadership capabilities, proven field management experience, and the ability to coordinate safety compliance across multiple contractors in a fast-paced environment. The EHS Manager will work closely with the Construction Manager and SAVI EHS leadership to drive safety performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold a proactive, high-standard safety culture. This position requires strong decision-making, strategic oversight, and hands-on field engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily safety management activities, including site inspections, compliance monitoring, and oversight of high-risk operations.
- Manage and deliver orientations, toolbox talks, and targeted safety training to ensure full understanding of project safety expectations.
- Facilitate daily hazard analysis (DHA/JHA) meetings and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Direct incident investigations, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Evaluate and enforce contractor safety programs to ensure alignment with OSHA standards and project-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with project leadership to strengthen and sustain a “Zero-Incident” safety culture through coaching and accountability.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready documentation, safety reports, and regulatory compliance records.
- Provide oversight for crane operations, critical lifts, confined space entries, energized work, and other high-risk scopes.
- Track and analyze safety performance metrics to identify trends and develop proactive improvement strategies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction safety experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities; data center or industrial project experience strongly .
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard analysis methods, and advanced risk mitigation techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting tools.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence all levels of field personnel.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510 or higher-level credentials (OSHA 500, CHST, CSM, etc.).
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field .
